As changes happen quickly, we can expect certain trends in the auto industry. Some will be a challenge for car dealers and consumers, while others will represent opportunities. We have compiled the top five car trends that you should expect already during the next year, according to the opinion of world experts:
Problems in auto parts supply chains will continue
Here at Glass service, we will always do our best to have the parts you need available when you need them. Whether it's your windshield, rear window, driver's or passenger's side glass, Glass Service services every make and model with OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) quality glass to ensure a perfect fit for your vehicle. Even during these challenging times with supply chain issues, we will never sacrifice quality or safety.
Sales of electric vehicles will grow
The number of electric vehicles and hybrid models is expected to increase, which is likely to affect the profitability of the parts division. Electric vehicles require less maintenance because they need fewer parts to operate. Dealers will have to adapt by finding ways to sell more parts, service more used cars and serve EV owners. Fortunately, all vehicles need auto glass - even electric ones!
Lower prices of used vehicles
Supply chain disruptions have wreaked havoc for dealers in the past, leading to a shortage of new vehicles and an increase in new and used car prices. Fortunately for car buyers, the price of used vehicles is expected to drop in 2024, and sales are also expected to increase. According to experts, prices of used vehicles are expected to drop by 10 to 20 percent.
Higher prices for new vehicles
Prices for new vehicles were expected to decrease in 2023. Experts believe that the shortage of semiconductor chips will no longer be a problem. While this is partially the case, automakers are still struggling with supply chain issues and materials are more expensive than last year. Unfortunately, it looks like buyers will still be paying more for vehicles in 2024.
More off-road vehicles
Off-road driving and overlanding have become very popular during the pandemic. Overlanding is a new hobby where people upgrade their 4x4 vehicles to handle different types of terrain, but in a way that allows them to live in their vehicles too! Think of it like camping, but use the car as a tent. Overlanding has achieved such great success that manufacturers have adapted almost all classic platforms to more robust overland variants.
We at Glass service want to keep up with trends because we see it as a way to better serve our customers!
